Ronald A. Loving

Senior Vice President of Outage Planning and Execution
Ron Loving
is Senior Vice President of Outage Planning and Execution for the Tennessee
Valley Authority. He reports to TVA’s President
and Chief Operating Officer, and is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
He is responsible for improving outage performance by implementing
and standardizing best outage practices across COO organizations.
He is a member of TVA’s Executive Committee.
Loving has
been with TVA for 31 years and has served as an officer since 1994,
when he was appointed head of TVA’s Washington office as
Vice President of Government Relations. In that role he successfully
represented TVA to the 104th Congress, the Administration, and various
state and federal officials.
Before assuming
his current duties, Loving served three years as Senior Vice President
of Performance Initiatives and was responsible for the executive
management and
oversight of key performance and
change initiatives within TVA. He also served for three years as
Vice President of Synterprise Group, an entrepreneurial business group
that
provided engineering
and business
services to other TVA organizations.
Loving began his
career with TVA as an electrical engineer and spent eight years on
the design
of TVA’s nuclear and fossil power plants. He
later assumed different management positions and was responsible
for areas such as customer service, transmission operation and maintenance,
public affairs,
total quality management, and energy conservation. In the early
1980s, he led the development of TVA’s successful
program to reach low-income consumers with energy conservation services.
Loving is a
graduate of three community leadership programs in Tennessee. He currently
serves on the board of directors of the Chattanooga Urban League, the
Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence,
and the Carpetbag
Theatre. Additionally, he has served on chamber of
commerce boards in Memphis, Jackson, and Knoxville, Tennessee.
Loving earned
a B.S. degree in electrical engineering
from Southern University and a master’s degree in business
administration from the University of Memphis.
