Ellen Robinson

Ellen Robinson was appointed Executive Vice President of Communications and Government Relations at TVA in 2001.

She previously served as Senior Vice President of Communications and Government Affairs for CNH Global N.V. in Racine, Wisconsin. The company was created in 1999 with the merger of Case Corporation and New Holland N.V.

From 1993 to 1999, Robinson served as Vice President of Communications and Government Affairs at Case Corporation. She joined Case in 1990 and worked in several capacities, including Director of Marketing Communications for the North American Sales and Marketing organization.

Robinson joined Case from Burson-Marsteller in New York, where she was a vice president and a head of the business-to-business marketing unit.

She began her career in 1976 with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where she held several communications positions. In 1978 she moved to the Republican National Committee in Washington, D.C., where she served as assistant to the co-chairman.

From 1979 to 1982, Robinson worked in Washington for two public affairs consulting firms: Hager, Sharp & Abramson, Inc., and Alcalde, Henderson & O’Bannon. From 1982 to 1987, she managed communications for six product divisions of the Society of the Plastics Industry, based in New York City.

Robinson is a member of the Public Relations Seminar and the Arthur W. Page Society, both made up of senior leaders in corporate communications. She is a graduate of Leadership Knoxville 2004 and serves on their Curriculum Committee. She serves as president of the Arts and Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville; is on the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Tanasi Council, Inc.; and serves as a trustee of the Knoxville Museum of Art.

Robinson earned a B.A. in journalism from the University of New Mexico in 1976 and a master’s in public administration from The American University in Washington, D.C., in 1978.
