Public Comments Sought on Proposed Deed Modification for Knox County

Sept. 9, 2002

Knox County and TVA will host an open house on Thursday, September 19, to seek public comment on a proposed deed modification that would lift the deed restrictions to allow the sale of three tracts of land on Fort Loudoun Reservoir.

The property includes Keller Bluff, a small tract just north of Keller Bluff, and Wright Bluff. The tracts total 38 acres and are located on the northern shore of Fort Loudoun. The deed modification would allow the county to use the proceeds to fund additional recreational enhancements at Seven Island Preserve.

The open house will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bearden High School. Brief presentations about the proposal are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

TVA staff will present information on the environmental review process, and Knox County staff will provide specific information on the proposed deed modification. Staff from Knox County and TVA will be available to answer questions and discuss any related issues.

For additional information or to submit comments regarding this proposal, write to Helen Rucker at TVA, 400 W. Summit Hill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37902-1401, or call her at 865-632-6506.
