TVA Employees Exceed CFC Goal

Knoxville-area TVA employees contributed more than $530,000 to the
2002 Smoky Mountain Region Combined Federal Campaign to raise money
for charitable agencies, exceeding their goal by $100,000.
TVA contributions were up more than $53,400 from last year’s campaign.
“I am thrilled at our record-breaking campaign,” said TVA Director
Bill Baxter, who served as chairman of the TVA campaign and the Smoky Mountain
Region CFC. “I thank Knoxville-area TVA employees for the difference they
have made in the lives of thousands of folks who need a little help along the
way.”
TVA
CFC co-chairs were employees Rose Sexton and Ray Asbury. Knoxville-area
TVA employees include those who work in Norris or at Bull Run, John Sevier
and Kingston
fossil plants.
Since
1995, the Knoxville-area TVA CFC has raised more than $3 million. The
Smoky Mountain region includes federal employees in 22 counties in
East Tennessee,
one county in Kentucky, and one county in Virginia.
TVA
is the nations largest public power producer, and its power system
is self-financed. TVA provides power to large industries and 158 power
distributors that serve 8.3 million consumers in seven southeastern states.
