landing force support party

(DOD) A temporary landing force organization composed of Navy and landing force elements, that facilitates the ship-to-shoremovement and provides initial combat support and combat servicesupport to the landing force. The landing force support party isbrought into existence by a formal activation order issued by thecommander, landing force. Also called LFSP.
