"Fostering Research on the Economic and Social Impacts of Information Technology: Report of a Workshop" summarizes expert discussions in a 1997 cross-disciplinary workshop. The report outlines the scope of prior research and identifies avenues for additional data collection and research. The project was co-funded by SRS and the Digital Society and Technologies Program in the Division of Information and Intelligent Systems.

SRS contributed funds to "The Digital Dilemma: Intellectual Property in the Information Age" which reports findings from a series of 1997-1998 expert discussions of intellectual property rights and the emerging information infrastructure.

SRS was also a contributor to "Summary of a Workshop on Information Technology Research for Federal Statistics," part of a larger project that also produced "Summary of a Workshop on Information Technology Research for Crisis Management." These 1998-1999 workshops were commissioned in support of the NSF Digital Government Research Program.

All the workshops were convened by the Computer Science and Telecommunications Board of the National Academies.
