Applications Development Directorate National Workforce Development
Education and Training Initiative is committed to nation-wide
efforts to advance the emerging geospatial technology industry.
Began in
1997 with the Mississippi Model (which is now part of the Mississippi
Space Commerce Initiative), the national and international
workforce initiative will bring remote sensing education to students
to ensure that a trained workforce will be available to support
a growing geospatial industry ... an industry that includes city
planners, community development agencies, foresters, farmers,
law enforcement agencies, transportation workers, medical communities
and a host of other professions.
