DTRA addresses nuclear hardening technology, survivability and operability assessments, standards, and testing for electronics and weapon systems; command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) systems; and ionizing radiation effects on U.S. forces, equipment, and personnel that may be subject to hostile battlefield environments. DTRA also oversees the operation and maintenance of various radiation test facilities.
