The USA Freedom Corps is focusing on specific areas of need where volunteers are making a difference by developing new opportunities for government and private institutions to enhance their efforts for the benefit of our communities. In order to mobilize individuals to meet these pressing community needs, the USA Freedom Corps will offer support, research, and other information regarding a particular area of need in America's communities that can be uniquely addressed through volunteer time and talents. Whenever possible, the USA Freedom Corps will also announce new and expanded efforts by federal agencies that are a part of the USA Freedom Corps coordinating council to enhance existing volunteer efforts in the priority areas. The USA Freedom Corps has identified the following areas of need to be addressed: youth achievement, parks and open spaces, healthy communities, and homeland security. |
