Description

The National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse (NDIC) is an information and referral service of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), of the National Institutes of Health. A central information resource on the prevention and management of diabetes, the clearinghouse responds to inquiries, develops and distributes publications about diabetes, and provides referrals to diabetes organizations. Publications distributed by the Clearinghouse are indexed on the Combined Health Information Database (CHID), available on the web at the internet address http://chid.nih.gov. Access is free of charge.

NDIC produces a directory of activities and publications produced by major voluntary and government organizations, fact sheets, and a dictionary of diabetes terms. Serial publication: Diabetes Dateline (newsletter)--calendar of events, news of professional associations and conferences, news about diabetes, and materials relevant to patient education in diabetes.
