NatureWatch is a partnership program of the U.S. Forest Service that:
- Provides nature viewing opportunities
- Encourages safe and sound viewing ethics
- Contributes to local economies
Opportunities abound for enjoying nature on a national forest near you and the Forest Service has joined with some terrific organizations to help make your visit even better.
Through programs such as Eyes on Wildlife, Celebrating Wildflowers, and Fish Watch the Forest Service and it's partners have developed sites, activities, and publications that will help you take full advantage of nature viewing. Some of these programs are described below.
The NatureWatch program is managed and administered by the Forest Service Wildlife, Fish, Rare Plant Program in cooperation with the program sponsors and partners. Projects in the field include partnerships numbering in the thousands!
The NatureWatch program is for people to experience wildlife, fish, and flowers in their natural settings; to promote recreational viewing opportunities, facilitate learning about the environment, and to promote conservation efforts and wise use of natural resources.
The NatureWatch Program is for children K-6th, and for adult recreationists, wildlife enthusiasts, hikers, photographers, anglers, hunters - all outdoors people!
