Vision
To enhance the quality and diversity of the scientific community through incentives for biomedical and behavioral researchers and trainees.
Mission

To develop and manage programs that offer financial incentives and other benefits to scientists, researchers, physicians, dentists, and trainees to encourage them to pursue biomedical and behavioral research careers.

OLRS achieves its mission through Congressionally mandated programs, the Loan Repayment Programs (LRPs), and the Undergraduate Scholarship Program (UGSP).

EXTRAMURAL LOAN REPAYMENT
APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 1, 2004
The application cycle for all extramural loan repayment programs is currently closed. The next application cycle for the Clinical Research LRP, Pediatric Research LRP, Contraception and Infertility Research LRP, Health Disparities Research LRP, and Clinical Research LRP for Individuals from Disadvantaged Backgrounds will open on September 1, 2004.

APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE FALL 2004
The NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program for students from Disadvantaged Backgrounds (UGSP) enters it ninth year. The application cycle for school year 2004-2005 closed on March 31, 2004.
