NAFTA:
A State Export Perspective, 1993-2003
For most Americans, the effects of the North American
Free Trade Agreement on the state in which they reside
have more immediate, practical relevance than generalized
statistics for the U.S. economy as a whole. Using data
from the Census Bureau, this report looks at the export
of goods from the individual states to Canada and Mexico
from 1993 (the year prior to NAFTA's implementation)
to 2003.
