Barbara L. Camens is the proprietor of the Washington, D.C. law firm of Barr & Camens. She represents labor unions in all aspects of labor relations and employment law. She also represents and advises employee benefit plans in all areas of employee benefit law. Ms. Camens has extensive litigation experience in federal court, before federal administrative agencies, and in arbitration.

Ms. Camens is a summa cum laude graduate of Ohio State University (B.A. 1979) and received her law degree cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (Law Review; Order of the Coif; J.D. 1982).

Ms. Camens is a member of the District of Columbia Bar (Labor and Employment Section) and is a frequent speaker on the topics of labor and employment law.

In May 2000, Ms. Camens was appointed by the Congressional leadership to serve on the Board of Directors of the Office of Compliance. The Board is responsible for promulgating regulations and adjudicating disputes under the Congressional Accountability Act of 1995.
