Cassis Series Optical Disc Products

The Cassis Series of Optical Disc Products is available worldwide at Patent and Trademark Depository Libraries and intellectual property offices and through direct sales to the public. These products deliver patent and trademark information in various configurations including full-text facsimile images and searchable text records.

System Requirements:Cassis2 Patent and Trademark Discs: Pentium PC (or better) with Windows 95 (service pack 5), Windows 98, Windows 2000, or Windows NT (service pack 4); second-generation DVD-ROM drive; Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher is necessary to access the online Help system; VGA monitor; printer.  DocDW: Pentium PC running MS Windows 95/98, 2000, or NT; high-resolution monitor; second-generation DVD-ROM drive; Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher is necessary to access the online Help system; laser printer required for printing images. The time required for image decompression and printing depends on the amount of available memory and printer speed. Top

Under 35 U.S.C. 122(b), certain utility and plant patent applications filed on or after November 29, 2000 are published approximately 18 months after filing. In March 2001, information from these patent application publications was added to an existing Cassis product, Patents BIB. A new document delivery product, USAApp, was added to the Cassis Series to provide facsimile images of patent application publications. The newly revised Cassis Sampler CD-ROM includes examples of most searchable patent and trademark Cassis optical disc products, but with sample data only. Products with the new Cassis2 user interface are included as are the USAPat and USAMark document delivery products with facsimile images of complete patent and trademark documents. The capability to link between the searchable text and the complete facsimile record is also demonstrated. The Cassis Sampler offers samples of the following patent titles:

The Cassis Sampler includes the new Cassis2 user interface for use with the searchable patent and trademark products and the Document Delivery for Windows (DocDW) retrieval software for use with USAPat and USAMark.  Both require a Pentium PC (or better) running MS Windows 95/98, 2000, or Windows NT (service pack 4); CD-ROM drive; Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher to access the online Help system; VGA monitor; and laser printer. The Cassis Sampler is published on CD-ROM, however, the actual products, except for USAMark, are published on DVD-ROM.  A second-generation DVD-ROM drive is necessary to use the actual products.
