  • Region III works in partnership with the states' emergency management agencies to prepare for and respond to disasters.

  • Region III's most common challenges are hurricanes and other storms that can cause flooding throughout the region and flash flooding in mountainous areas.

  • Although hurricane and flood-related damage is the most prevalent, Region III states are also subject to tornadoes and earthquakes.
