Mr.
Schiff: Be careful. Telemarketing Fraud is out there and
you may be called by someone asking for your money for phony
charities, phony investments...
Mr.
Dagan: "Travel packages; it's over the Internet; it's
by telephone; it's by mail; it's becoming
more and more worldwide."
Mr.
Schiff: That's Special Agent Gary Dagan, Chief of the FBI's
Economic Crimes Unit...
Mr.
Dagan: "Now we have joint operations with Canada; many
of the criminals have moved up to Canada and still are defrauding
United States citizens."
Mr.
Schiff: Dagan says the FBI works with law enforcement overseas...
Mr.
Dagan: "We also have investigations now in Madrid,
Spain, in the Netherlands; it's becoming more known that
this is a major problem, not just in America, but throughout
the world."
Mr.
Schiff: Telemarketing Fraud costs consumers and businesses
hundreds of millions of dollars a year. I'm Neal Schiff
and that's what's happening at the "FBI, This Week."
