The U.S. Commercial Service (CS) office in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic is the regional headquarters for CS operations in the Caribbean. The U.S. Commercial Service offices in Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad report the CS office in Santo Domingo.

The U.S. Commercial Service in Santo Domingo offers internship opportunities throughout the year in Santo Domingo and will consider requests for internships in Barbados and Trinidad.

Through our overseas work-study intern program we provide college or university juniors, seniors, and graduate students of economics, business administration and related fields with "hands-on" experience working in a commercial section of a U.S. Embassy or Consulate. The program is voluntary and uncompensated. It is designed to encourage students to consider careers in the commercial field. Internships in the USCS overseas Work-Study Intern Program are considered to be adjunct to an applicant's education; therefore, internships are open to currently enrolled students who are taking at least one-half of a full-time academic workload, and who will be returning to complete their education immediately upon termination of their internship.
