The Center for Medicaid and State Operations at the Centers for Medicare
& Medicaid Services (CMS) is sponsoring a two-day conference entitled
"Building Systems so that Money Follows the Person" in Baltimore,
Maryland on March 2–3, 2004.
This conference is targeted to Systems Change and Ticket to Work/Medicaid
Infrastructure grantees, State Medicaid, Health, Mental Health, Developmental
Disabilities, and Aging agencies; advocacy organizations, researchers,
providers, legislators, and consumers. This event is designed to support
current grantees' efforts, showcase New Freedom Initiative (NFI) activities
across departments, inform advocates, highlight important CMS initiatives, and
introduce new CMS funding emphases.
Plenary sessions and workshops will profile issues and strategies for
supporting people of all ages with a disability or long-term illness to live
meaningful lives in the community. This event will also provide a national
forum to exchange information and share ideas on integrated community living
with State officials, Federal government staff, consumers, advocates and
stakeholders.
Effective January 15, 2004, registrations will be accepted on a wait-list
basis only due to limitations on conference size. All registrations must be
