Consumer Sentinel's restricted-access web site is available only to federal, state and local law enforcement organizations. To use the database, you need a personal computer, a connection to the Internet, and a browser. The site supports both Netscape and Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

For more information on Consumer Sentinel and how your law enforcement organization can become a member, visit www.ftc.gov/sentinel.

Consumer Sentinel's restricted-access web site has built-in safeguards - including client authentication, server authentication and data encryption protections - to ensure the security of the information in the database. You can download the security software once, register online and then use the software to begin a secure session any time.
