Research: The CDC will conduct research in order to:

Research: In FY 2003, NIH funds will be used to continue several research efforts to support a better understanding of diet and physical activity and its relationship to the health of Americans. FY 2003 priorities include:

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) will continue to develop innovative approaches to disease prevention through behavior change in exercise, diet, tobacco use, and alcohol abuse.

Research programs supported by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) will focus on:
