Research: FY 2003 priority areas include:

HEALTH SERVICES RESEARCH (NIH)

Evaluation: During FY 2003, NIH will continue to provide evaluation support for the National Forum for Health Care Quality Measurement and Reporting (NQF), whose key objective is to evaluate and select core measures used in national reporting on all asepcts of health care quality. We will evaluate health-related quality of life, functional, outcome, and summary measurement, patient satisfaction indices, psychometrics, statistics, and research methodology. We will also identify and evaluate measures for tracking progress on national aims for quality improvement and the extent of public and private sector availablity of quality measurement data.
