Mary Ellsberg, Ph.D. is a Senior Program Officer at the Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH-DC). She has a Ph.D. in epidemiology from Umea University, Sweden. Her research focuses on the international prevalence and health consequences of gender-based violence, particularly in Nicaragua, Indonesia and Ethiopia. She is a member of the technical core team of the World Health Organization’s Multi-Country Study on Domestic Violence and Women’s Health.
