The NOAA Weather Partners, located in Norman, Oklahoma, are five federal government organizations involved in severe weather research, forecasting and support. They are: National Severe Storms Laboratory, National Weather Service Forecast Office, NEXRAD Radar Operations Center, Storm Prediction Center and Warning Decision Training Branch. Collocation in Norman invigorates collaborations that lead to a rapid transfer of knowledge from research into technology, training and improved forecasts and warnings nationwide.

 

 

The National Severe Storms Laboratory will celebrate its 40th Anniversary on Oct. 15 and 16 in Norman, Okla.

The public is invited to attend talks highlighting the organization's history, research accomplishments and current activities from 1:30 to 5 p.m., followed by a celebration dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 15, at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.

The NOAA Weather Partners in Norman will join NSSL in hosting a free, public Open House on Saturday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Selected school groups will tour NSSL on Friday morning.
