Its focus is in three areas: Life Sciences Medical Sciences Environmental Sciences This database allows the user to identify the specific research that BER is funding and information about the research. The mission of the BER program is to develop the knowledge needed to identify, understand, and anticipate the long-term health and environmental consequences of energy production, development, and use. This mission is carried out through the program's support of peer-reviewed research at DOE National Laboratories, universities, and private institutions. The research is also designed to provide science in support of the Energy Policy Act of 1992.
