Search Tips
There are various ways to search the Clearinghouse website as well as how to refine your search. Please note, the search function is not case sensitive. It will return the same results if you enter child, CHILD, or even cHiLd.
The most important part of any search is to choose appropriate keywords. Your keywords should be as close to what you're searching for as possible:
- You do not need to use quotation marks to find an exact phrase. For example, entering sexual and physical abuse tells the search to find documents that contain the exact phrase sexual and physical abuse.
- Be specific. If you know the exact title (or part of the title) of the document or information for which you're searching, enter that as your search.
- Use the thesaurus. For ideas about other words and phrases to use to find information on your subject, refer to the Thesaurus.
