Small Business HUBZone Exposition

Fifty small business HUBZone firms showcased their products and services at the OSDBU sponsored expo held in the Main Exhibit Hall of the Harry S. Truman Building on April 7, 2004.  Information technology firms as well as those offering general construction expertise exhibited.  In addition, the Department's large business prime contractors attended as invited guests to broaden their subcontracting and partnering contacts.  This year also marks the 5th anniversary of the Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Empowerment Contract Program with 10,000 small businesses certified as program participants.  The HUBZone program was created in 1997 as a result of legislation to help increase employment opportunities in designated areas, stimulate capital investment, and empower communities.
