Special Agents Recognized for Exemplary Service
On December 18, 2003 the Special Agent of the Year Awards Ceremony was held at the Navy Museum at the Washington Navy Yard. The tremendous efforts and dedication
to duty exemplified by these agents reflect great credit upon themselves, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and the U.S. Navy.
The recipients were recognized for their outstanding performance in the following categories, including a new category for counterterrorism:
Fraud Award: SA T. O'Connor General Crimes Award: SA M. Baker
Counterintelligence Award: SA M. McCorkle
Counterterrorism Award (tie): SA M. Palomino and Reserve
Agent D. Lieb
During the formal ceremony, NCIS Director
David Brant presented the Department of the Navy Meritorious
Civilian Service Awards to the special agents and a Meritorious
Service Medal to the Reserve Agent. Award recipients also
received a special videotaped message of congratulations from
actors Mark Harmon, Mike Weatherly and Sasha Alexander from
the TV show "Navy NCIS."
