DHHS PROVIDER EDUCATION & TRAINING RESOURCES

January 2001

Purpose

The Provider Education & Training Resources directory was created as a reference guide to federally funded HIV/AIDS related provider education and training opportunities available throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Territories. As a directory, it will be useful in helping clinical and non-clinical providers locate consultation and continuing education programs offering state-of-the-art knowledge regarding all facets of HIV/AIDS. This resource directory includes a brief description of training opportunities along with program contact information. We encourage providers to take advantage of these opportunities and share this information with your colleagues. The following federal agencies are highlighted in the HIV/AIDS Provider Education & Training Resource directory:

  • Health Resources and Services Administration's HIV/AIDS Bureau (HRSA, HAB)

  • Indian Health Service (IHS)

  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (SAMHSA, CSAT)

  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for HIV, STD, and TB Prevention (CDC, NCHSTP)

  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's Center for Mental Health Services (SAMHSA, CMHS)

  • Health Resources and Services Administration's Bureau of Health Professionals (HRSA, BHPr)
