$15,000 Reward for Information on Electrical Substation Attack

The FBI, the Emerald People's Utility District (EPUD), Lane Electric and the Bonneville Power Administration are offering up to $15,000 in rewards for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for a June 1, 2003, attack on a power substation.

The unknown person or persons fired several bullets at the EPUD Cheshire substation, severely damaging equipment. This electrical substation is located on Highway 36 approximately 10 miles north of Eugene and approximately 2 miles south of Junction City. About 2,600 customers in this area lost power for about three hours as a result of the attack.

It is believed that the shooting occurred shortly before midnight late Sunday evening on June 1, 2003. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at (541) 343-5222 (during normal business hours) or (503) 224-4181 (24 hours a day).
