The U.S. sweetener industry is the largest in the world with annual consumption of about 9.3 million tons of refined sugar each year and about 12 million tons of corn sweeteners. ERS economists analyze U.S. supply, demand, prices, and trade for beet and cane sugar, and for corn sweeteners.
