Senior Fellow Project Reports

Overview

At the heart of the Institute's research activities, senior fellows in residence at the Institute play an important role in helping to advance understanding on issues related to the prevention, management, and resolution of international conflicts. During their term, fellows are integrated into the Institute's ongoing work to enhance the Institute's other research, education, and training programs. As part of this process the Institute annually offers a series of project reports to provide an opportunity for senior fellows to discuss their ongoing research and work at the Institute.

Held at the Institute and open to the public, project reports are typically convened in a moderated-roundtable format and feature significant time for discussion, comments, and questions after the main presentation. Frequently attended by policymakers and members of the media, Senior Fellow Project Reports are a key tool in the Institute's efforts to help bridge the gaps between the worlds of research and policymaking.

Senior Fellow Project Reports frequently become the basis for Institute Special Reports, Peaceworks, books, and other publications. In addition, the Institute occasionally webcasts project reports live as part of its efforts to expand their reach.

2004 Project Report Schedule

The 2003-2004 project report series was completed in mid-July. Information on the 2005 Project Report Series will be available in spring 2005. Archived audio and written summaries from the 2003-2004 Project Report Series are now available online.

For further information about the Institute's Project Report Series, please contact the Jennings Randolph Fellowship Program by e-mail at fellows@usip.org. Members of the media interested in attending any of the presentations or who would like to set up an interview with an Institute fellow should contact the Office of Congressional and Public Affairs by e-mail at publicaffairs@usip.org.

Project Report Multimedia Archives

Over the years, Senior Fellow Project Reports have become increasingly popular with international affairs scholars, policymakers, and members of the press in the greater Washington, D.C. area. To expand the reach of these discussions and add a "virtual seat " at the table for others interested and unable to attend in person, the Institute has compiled a collection of archived audio recordings of several Senior Fellow Project Reports made at the Institute.
