National Hispanic Heritage Month

A Message from Treasury Secretary John W. Snow

As we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, we are reminded of the rich contributions Hispanic Americans have made to our great nation. Those contributions are as diverse as America itself. Hispanic Americans are business owners, artists, athletes, teachers, soldiers, mothers and fathers. Here at the Treasury Department, and throughout our federal government, they are leaders, managers, and valued colleagues. Hispanic Americans' hard work, devotion to family and dedication to community have added invaluably to the fabric of American life. This month is a time to honor the gifts that Hispanic Americans bring to our country, and to be reminded that America is great because of the collective gifts of all our people. In other words: e pluribus unum; out of many, one.
