Mission

Synchronize DISA's net-centric solutions across the Global Information Grid in concert with other Services, Agencies, Joint Staff and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Networks and Information Integration (NII) to deliver responsive, protected and efficient full-spectrum war fighting support assuring Global Decision Superiority and continuity of operations. Produce fully coordinated Global Information Grid (GIG)
Operations (OPS) GIG OPS knowledge and decision products.

GO5 Mission Essential Tasks:
- Synchronize, coordinate and focus the full capabilities of DISA to provide Global Information Grid net-centric solutions to support Joint and Coalition war fighting forces in support of contingency missions and exercises.
- Provide DISA wide integrated strategic support packages to Combatant Commands (COCOMs) Operation Order (OPORD) Command Element (CE) annexes and no-notice Combatant Command (COCOM) crisis operations.
- Manage the Operational Joint Readiness Review Process, provide agency wide continuity of operations plans and concepts (COOP).
- Provide sustained continuity of effort on Concept of Operations (CONOP) Operation Plan (OPLAN) CONOP/OPLAN needs and support senior executive level decision making.



Functions

Continuously identify, prioritize, synchronize, coordinate, and advocate current, emerging and changing Combatant Command requirements ensuring that the full spectrum of DISA integrated capabilities are provided expeditiously.

Serve as the DISA Headquarters focal point of entry and support for all Combatant Commander Field Offices and Commands, the Joint Staff and NII, and Continental United States (CONUS) Field Office.

Coordinate integrated and uniform net-centric Global Network Operations (NETOPS) solutions to support Theater Network Operations Centers' (TNC) DISA-provided capabilities from cradle to grave.

Ensure that DISA-developed products satisfy the GIG OPS requirements and that the transition and end-state implementation plans are properly tailored and synchronized to the Combatant Command and Field Office/Commands' needs.

Maintain DISA's back-up telecommunications and automation. Reviews COOP program and budget proposals, and operational and strategic planning.

Manage, oversee, and track Combatant Command theater-unique requirements and program implementation, maintains comprehensive exercise calendar, and provides operational support.

Participate in Joint Chief of Staff (JCS) review of Combatant Command OPLANS, functional plans, and track lessons-learned.

Coordinate and generate Joint Readiness Review Assessments and reporting to include requirements in support of the Joint Quarterly Readiness Report, the Balanced Scorecard.

Develop and maintain the Directorates Mission Essential Tasks to include standards, conditions and measures, and ensures their linkage with the Combatant Command Joint Mission Essential Tasks and audible derivation.

Track the GIG Operations Directorate's responsibilities, progress and open actions on DISA Director, Combatant Command, Department of Defense (DoD) and Joint Staff programs.

Produce fully coordinated GIG OPS knowledge management and decision products. Develop Directorate's knowledge center CONOP and procedures, ensure its development and implementation, maintain and assure timely and accurate integrated information, through prioritized and researched time-phased plans.

Identify requirements and develop DISA COOP. Program and implement the GIG Operations Directorate's COOP. Plan, organize, direct and supervise execution of COOP exercises.

Provide Agency and Combatant Command related situation awareness and decision making coordinated assessments and courses of action with recommendations and implementation plans to the Principal Director.

Develop and process through Joint Staff and DOD levels, DISA-wide integrated strategic support packages to enable Combatant Commands C4 support and to obtain immediate unprogrammed operations resources.

Synchronize DISA's net-centric solutions across the Global Information Grid in concert with other Services, Agencies, Joint Staff and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Networks and Information Integration (NII) OSD NII to deliver responsive, protected and efficient full-spectrum war fighting support assuring Global Decision Superiority and continuity of operations.

Centrally plan and manage DISA's support to Joint Staff and combatant Commands for Joint and Multi-national exercises, experiments and test.

DISA COOP interface with the Intelligence Community (IC) in planning, training, and COOP exercises.

Represents DISA at the IC CIO Executive Council, NGA Geospatial Intelligence Board & Council (GIB/GIC) and Defense Intelligence Agency Department of Defense Intelligence Information System (DIA DoDIIS) Management Board.
