"The First Stop for Information on Energy-Efficiency and  the Relationship of Energy to Greenhouse-Gas Emissions"

In 1993, the Energy Consumption Division (ECD) within the Energy Information Administration (EIA) started a project to develop indicators for energy efficiency. The first product was a beginning report, Measuring Energy Efficiency in the United States’ Economy: A Beginning. This report was subsequently used as the focal point for a series of energy-efficiency measurement workshops for each sector of the United States.

The Energy Use and Efficiency Page is a continuation of EIA’s effort to take the lead to develop robust and reproducible energy-efficiency indicators and also measurements of greenhouse gas as related to energy use and energy efficiency. This continuation is in the form of a listserv whereby all interested analysts can share ideas, data, and ask for assistance on methodological problems associated with energy use, energy efficiency, and greenhouse gas issues [Sign Up for "Discussion of Energy Efficiency Analysis Issues"].

To keep abreast of what is happening, please sign up for our "What’s New" email listserv [Sign Up for "What’s New at the Energy Efficiency Web Site" ].

Additionally, if you have any ideas for improvement to what we have here or ideas for added features, please send us your comments [Send Comments].
