APPLIANCE  REPORTS

Appliance Reports are brief statistical reports in which long-term U.S. trends in market share of air-conditioning units and about two dozen appliances are compared with trends in each U.S. Census Division. The Appliance Reports are the only source of long-term regional data on appliance market share.

The regional statistics presented in the Appliance Reports are calculated using data from EIA's Residential Energy Consumption Survey, a national statistical sample survey. An update of the entire report series to incorporate data from the 2001 survey was completed in January 2003. The next update is scheduled for 2006, when data for 2005 will be added to the reports.
