The State Energy Data 2000 tables contain energy consumption estimates for each of the 50 individual States, the District of Columbia, and in aggregate for the United States. These estimates are provided by energy source and economic sector.
The following comma space delimited (.csv) files contain full-precision data for all the series published rounded in the report tables. These files can be easily imported into spreadsheet or database applications. The data are identified by their mnemonic series names, which are explained in "CSV File Documentation." Further explanations are published in the technical notes located at http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/states/_use_multistate.html.
All data series, both in physical units (tons, barrels, cubic feet, etc) and in Btu for each State are contained in the files identified with the State 2-letter postal code. The "All States (British Thermal Units)" and "All States (Physical Units)" csv files contain the Btu data for all States and the physical unit data for all States, respectively. The "All States (British Thermal Units)" and "All States (Physical Units)" exe versions are compressed for easier downloading. After downloading, double-click on the file to expand it to the .csv format.
Files were posted on March 21, 2003. The "All States (British Thermal Units)" csv file is 3,571KB in size, and the "All States (Physical Units)" csv file is 2,782KB; the compressed versions (.exe) are approximately 1,150KB and 880KB, respectively. All remaining files range from approximately 110KB to 225KB.
