March 7, 2003 Two International Murder Fugitives Arrested in Dallas DALLAS, TX – Two fugitives from Mexico wanted for murder were arrested here today by federal agents and county officers. Special agents with the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), with the assistance of officers from the Denton County Sheriff’s Department, arrested Vicente Rivera-Carranza and Alejandro Hernandez Briones. The arrests were the result of international cooperation between the Dallas ICE office, Denton County Sheriff’s Department, and the State Attorney General for Luevo Leon. "The arrest and removal of criminal aliens from the United States is a priority which Dallas ICE will continue to pursue," said Interim ICE Director Anne M. Estrada. "Dallas is not a city where international fugitives can hide. ICE will cooperate with local, state, federal and international law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of Dallas residents." Vicente Rivera-Carranza was arrested early Thursday morning several blocks from 115 Brandon Way in Aubrey, Texas, where he was believed to be hiding. The fugitive had alluded authorities for 10 years. Alejandro Hernandez-Briones was arrested this morning at 8175 Meadow Rd in Dallas. Hernandez-Briones is wanted for the beating death of a man in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He has been a fugitive for two years. ### |
