Where We Are

The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) is located on the campus of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.

Getting Here

The NIH Visitor Information [nih.gov] provides maps and written directions for reaching the campus by car and public transportation. The NIH Visitor Information Center is located in Building 10.

Natcher Conference Center Information

Many NHGRI conferences and meetings are held at the Natcher Conference Center on the NIH campus. Includes directions and facility information.

Finding Us

NHGRI's Office of the Director is housed mainly in Building 31, on the northeast corner of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) campus. The offices of Division of Intramural Research are located in Building 50, also on the NIH campus. The offices of the Division of Extramural Research are located in NIH's Twinbrook facility in Rockville, Md. Intramural research labs are housed throughout the NIH campus and in off-campus facilities. Check the staff directory for specific NHGRI personnel addresses.
