THE PRE-TAX PARKING BENEFIT

The pre-tax parking benefit allows an employee to use up to $195 per month of his/her income, pre-taxed, to pay for parking in a parking lot from which an employee uses public transportation, rides in a van pool, or participates in a car pool of two or more persons to commute to work. This benefit is in addition to the current transit subsidy benefit that provides employees up to $100 per month to subsidize their commuting costs.
