How To Get Marine Corps Publications

Current doctrine publications may be accessed and downloaded directly from our website, thus reducing printing costs and warehouse storage space.  Once a publication is electronically distributed, extra printed copies are extremely limited.  Please note that the Doctrine Division does not stock or direct-mail printed copies of doctrine publications.  To receive printed copies of current publications, please follow the procedures below.

For Navy and Marine Corps Personnel

Determine whether your unit/command has an Individual Activity Code (IAC).  This code is normally assigned to the adjutant section/G-1.

With an IAC

Order current publications directly through the Marine Corps Publication Distribution System (MCPDS), a computer-based distribution system located in Albany, GA.  Access to MCPDs is normally via your unit's/command's adjutant section/G-1.

Without an IAC

Contact ARDE, HQMC, at DSN 224-2951, 1712, 1713, or 4816 or Commercial (703) 614-2951, 1712, 1713, or 4816 for instructions on establishing an IAC.

For Other DOD/Federal Government Personnel

Contact ARDE, HQMC, at DSN 224-2580, 2493, 4816, or 4698 or Commercial (703) 614-2580, 2493, 4816, or 4698, extension 148 or 150, to mail order publications.

For Private Citizens

Please contact the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Section, Adjutant's Office, Marine Corps Base, Quantico, VA, at Commercial (703) 784-2399, for written request procedures.  Fees may be involved.
