Immigrant Visas

There will be an ongoing construction project at the main entrance to the US Embassy Singapore on Napier Road, starting August 28, 2004. During this time, the entrance will remain open for pedestrian visitors to the Consular section for American Citizen services and Visa services. However, please expect delays at the security gate due to the construction, and please exercise care when entering the Embassy. Consular section visitors are reminded not to bring anything to the Embassy other than required documents, as storage for other items will be very limited.

PUBLIC INQUIRIES

The U.S. Embassy Singapore does not accept attorney-certified copies of I-129F, I-130 or I-140 approval notices for immigrant or fiancee visa processing. We are unable to begin processing an immigrant or fiancee visa application until we receive the approved petition. Once the petition is approved, it normally takes 3 to 4 months to reach our office. INS filing hours are Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The Embassy is open for public inquiries on immigrant visa matters Monday through Friday (excluding Singapore and U.S. holidays) from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. All other times are by appointment only. Please proceed to the Consular Section, Counter Six. You may also call the Immigrant Visa Section at 6476-9100 between 3:30-4:30 pm.

THE DIVERSITY LOTTERY PROGRAM

The registration period for the DV-2006 Diversity Visa Lottery Program will begin at 12:00 pm EST (GMT-5) on November 5, 2004 and end at 12:00 pm EST (GMT-5) on January 7, 2005.

The Department of State will only accept completed Electronic Diversity Visa Entry Forms submitted electronically at www.dvlottery.state.gov during this period. This site will not accept registrations until November 5, 2004.
