Ambassador Miles Opens Third Annual U.S. Education Fair

On October 9, U.S. Ambassador Richard Miles, Deputy Minister of Education of Georgia Ms. Bela Tsipuria, and new Vice Rector of Tbilisi State University Ms. Rusudan Lortkipanidze, opened the Third Annual U.S. Education Fair at Tbilisi State University. The two-day fair was jointly sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, American Councils for International Education (ACCELS), and the Kvali Educational Advising Center.

Over 600 Georgian students, scholars, teachers, and professors from different higher education institutions of Georgia attended seminars on education in the United States, distance learning, essay writing, professional communications, interview and resume writing skills, and more. Participants received information on U.S. Government-funded educational exchange programs. On October 10 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., participants had the opportunity to meet with representatives of over 30 American, European and local higher education institutions offering U.S. educational programs.
