Welcome to the USDA Kentucky Rural
Development website. Rural Development is the primary federal provider of assistance to rural areas.
Our mission
is to promote
sustainable rural communities and to assist the residents of those
communities improve
their quality of life.
Rural Development is comprised of three agencies: the Rural Business-Cooperative
Service, the Rural Housing Service, and the Rural Utilities Service. Each of
these
agencies administers a number of programs that assist rural communities
and rural
residents develop new or expand existing rural businesses, provide
financing to
purchase or repair single family homes and construct affordable rental
housing, and
fund community water and sewer service or other essential facilities.
Also, part of
Rural Development, the Office of Community Development offers support and
technical assistance to local officials.
Please take a few minutes to browse our website and learn more about each of these
agencies and their programs. The links on the left side of this screen will take
you
to a welcome from the Rural Development State Director for Kentucky and to
additional information regarding each area of Rural Development. Success
Stories
and Annual Report will relate some examples of the good work we're doing
here in
Kentucky. Office Locations will allow you to determine which of our
nineteen local
offices and five area offices service your county and to obtain their
address and phone
number. Links are also available to obtain copies of program regulations
and some
Rural Development forms. Thanks for stopping by!
