 The Rural Utilities Service announces the availability of $14.9 million in a new program of competitive grants to assist communities with extremely high energy costs.

 On Monday, October 21, the Rural Utilities Service of the USDA connected with 19 sites across the United States to announce awards of 71 distance learning and telemedicine grants. These grants, which total more than $27 million, will provide greater educational opportunities and medical services to rural citizens in 33 states.

Rural Development's Rural Utilities Service approved a $48,200,000 loan for the Logan/Todd Regional Water Commission that will help 48,000 rural people in Logan County, Todd County and Oak Grove, Kentucky.
