ACF Announces Grant Availability for
Healthy Marriage Resource Center

The Administration for Children and Families has announced a request for proposals to create a Healthy Marriage Resource Center.

The Healthy Marriage Resource Center will serve as a national repository and distribution center for information and research on healthy marriages for educator, practitioners, organizations, couples and individuals.  After the grant is awarded, the center will provide materials and resources to individuals, couples and organizations interested in developing or accessing locally-run healthy marriage programs.

The Healthy Marriage Resource Center will also synthesize research and evaluation findings on healthy marriages, summarize relevant information about best practices, and develop products and services to help interested individuals, couples and organizations learn about effective approaches to developing and implementing innovative healthy marriage programs.

“The Healthy Marriage Resource Center will help couples and individuals considering marriage acquire helpful information about what it takes to form and sustain a healthy marriage.  It also will provide interested organizations, couples and individuals with information about how to implement healthy marriage programs at the local-level,” said Assistant Secretary for Children and Families Wade F. Horn, Ph.D.

Eligible applicants for the $900,000 Healthy Marriage Resource Center grant can include county governments, city or township governments, special district governments, state-controlled institutions of higher education, Native American tribal governments, non-profit and for-profit groups and faith-based organizations.  Applications must be received by June 14, 2004.  The following links contain more information:
