Career Development Support

NLM offers an early career development award to assist biomedical informaticians who are establishing their initial research programs. A loan repayment program provides for the repayment of educational loan debt of qualified health professionals who agree to conduct informatics research for two years.

Eligibility: Domestic public or private, non-Federal organizations, health professions degree and informatics training for principal investigators.

     Career Development Awards:
     Early Career Development Award for Informatics (K22, PA 03-090)
     Loan Repayment Program (L30)

Application Procedures: New Career Development awards use the PHS 398 application form and are accepted at the standard deadline dates (February 1, June 1 and October 1) as indicated in the instructions. Loan Repayment program applications are accepted once each year, as indicated in the instructions.
