Vaccine Research

If you're interested in volunteering to participate in HIV vaccine research clinical trials, this site will show what steps you should take:

ClinicalTrials.gov provides regularly updated information about Federally and privately supported clinical research on human volunteers. ClinicalTrials.gov gives you information about a trial's purpose, who may participate, locations, and phone numbers for more details. For information specifically about HIV/AIDS clinical trials conducted by the NIAID Intramural AIDS Research Program, visit:

Check throughout the observances sites to check on the current testing activities being conducted.

Testing

HIV testing is critical in fighting the spread of HIV. If a person tests positive, early detection of the disease allows for early treatment, which can prolong and improve an individual's quality of life. If negative, it reminds the participant to practice responsible behavior that reduces the risk of infection. For more information on HIV testing, or to find a testing location in your area, visit:

CARE

The Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act is Federal legislation that addresses the unmet health needs of persons living with HIV (PLWH) by funding primary healthcare and support services. The CARE Act was named after Ryan White, an Indiana teenager whose courageous struggle with HIV/AIDS and against AIDS-related discrimination helped educate the nation.
