Cross Cultural Health Care Program Announces CLAS Series Of Workshops

Enrollment for The Cross Cultural Health Care Program (CCHCP) is now open for a series of professional development programs provided by CCHCP. The CCHCP, established with a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, works to help with the health care needs of the growing non-mainstream, limited English speaking populations in the Seattle, Washington area.

The CCHCP works to build innovative programs that address multiple layers of need within communities. The recognition that health care systems and institutions also operate as complex cultures, with specialized languages, traditions, and codes of conduct, has allowed us to develop similarly focused programs for organizational systems.

CCHCP provides training sessions at public and private settings across the country. Upcoming events include:

  • A C.L.A.S. Act (3-Day Series) [9/20, 10/4 and 10/11/04 Seattle, WA] A series on the CLAS standards developed by the Office of Minority Health.

  • Bridging the Gap [10/2, 9, 16, 23, and 30/04 Seattle, WA] A medical Interpreter training program.

  • Interpreting Trauma [10/6/04 Seattle, WA] A new workshop as a next step to Bridging the Gap.

  • Cultural Competency Training of Trainers [10/18 - 22/04 Seattle, WA] Learn how to teach CCHCP's curriculum within your own organization.
