Applications Available for the 2005 Rudy Bruner Award for Urban Excellence

Deadline: December 13, 2004

A program of the Bruner Foundation, the Rudy Bruner Award (RBA) welcomes a wide variety of applicants and projects for awards for urban places that demonstrate the successful integration of effective process, meaningful values, and good design. RBA winners are distinguished by their social, economic, and contextual contributions to the urban environment, and often provide innovative solutions to cities' most challenging problems.

Award Information
The award program recognizes one Gold Medal Winner and four Silver Medal winners in each biennial cycle. The Gold Medal Winner is awarded $50,000, and each Silver Medalist $10,000.

Eligibility
The Bruner Foundation. To be eligible for this program, the project must be a real place, not just a plan. Since site visits are integral to the award process, the project must have been in operation for a sufficient amount of time to demonstrate success. The project must be located in the continental United States.

The application may be submitted by anyone involved in the planning, development, or operation of a project, including: a representative of city, county, state, or federal government; a developer; a design or planning professional; a community or neighborhood group; an educational or cultural institution; or a business.

Applications for the RBA will be available immediately after Labor Day. See the Bruner Foundation Web site at http://brunerfoundation.org/p/rba.html for information on the awards program, to download the application, and for details on past winners. For more information or to receive an application, contact the foundation's offices.
